Rowed To Nowhere
As you are well aware, I am always impressed by a clever play on words.
This is clever.

Charles Krauthammer on Katrina: Game, Set, Match.
Succinct and absolutely spot on.
Is it me or is there something amusing about Viagra presenting MLB's Comeback Player of the Year Award?
I know Rolaids tried to link the Fireman Relief Award for closers to their tablets (Rolaids puts out the "fires" of indigestion), but this one...
This editorial strikes me as just plain odd.
Key graphs:
If the war in Iraq is worth fighting - if it's a noble venture, as the hawks insist it is - then it's worth fighting with the children of the privileged classes. They should be added to the combat mix. If it's not worth their blood, then we should bring the other troops home.I suspect that Mr. Herbert's contention is that only the "underprivileged" are the ones dying in the Iraq war and that if more rich parents had an actual stake in this endeavor there'd be more outcry to bring Americans home.
If Mr. Bush's war in Iraq is worth dying for, then the children of the privileged should be doing some of the dying.
As I said with the compromise on appellete court judges, anytime both sides hate something, it's probably good for the rest of us.
In John Roberts case, reports are Ann Coulter and MoveOn.org oppose the nomination.
Sounds like a good choice then, doesn't it?
Update: This choice is another reason why I supported the compromise; it's to see what the Democrats will do. The onus is on the Dems to make the case that a nominee is SO bad that they do not deserve an up or down vote. I don't expect that will be the case with Roberts. As I understand it, only Kennedy, Schumer and Durbin opposed his previous nomination and I don't suspect they can sell this guy as Scalia reincarnated. My prediction is the Dems will make him uncomfortable, but barring some porn tape or other skeleton, he'll sail through.
So after seeing this and the lack of any recent additions to my Pill, I am seriously considering a restart of the blog. I prefer my own space and I'd rather avoid confusion. That and Mr. Klass' following is larger than mine. I take pride in knowing it looks like I had the name first, but alas...
So I may be in the market for some new blog names. Here's a short list of the ones I'm kicking around:
instapendit
lilaks
powerlane
little green footbells
dailykus
huffingtonpust
Perhaps a fresh start is the thing to do. I know too little about website creation at this point to go that route, but Hell there's always the chance I can learn.
I'll let you know if I leap and leave the new locale if it happens.
A cogent refutation of the latest round of "exit-strategy" blather.
